Do You Like WebAppers Redesign?

Posted · Category: Announcement

The New Design of WebAppers has just released! This time, we are trying something minimal and clean. It’s a responsive design, which is crafted to use W3C CSS3 media queries, to adapt the layout to different viewing environments. So that users across a broad range of devices and browsers will have access to WebAppers, laid out so as to be easy to read and navigate with a minimum of resizing, panning and scrolling.

You may find some bugs here and there. Please feel free to let me know what you think about the new design. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

The new design is really nice and clean it’s better than before!

Align left ? Why not center ? i’ll have a headache. but nice and clean.

  • good work!

  • PLEASE CENTER, youtube and g+ suffered a lot becouse left align… design and developers have large screens, please don’t make me hate you. I have follow the site since first day. :(

    LOVE THE DESIGN WAY BETTER!

Its a nice new look, but the icons on the right let it down, they’re really quite poor.

  • Alex

    I think it’s just awesome! :)

    Good Look & Feel

Agreed, it’s the left align I don’t like (30″ monitor)

Looks good. I’d also like to see content more centered.
Perhaps moving “Deals” to the left?

  • It’s now center for screen wider than 1900px. ;)

  • Yes it is :)

Thanks, wasn’t expecting this fast response.

This is NOT responsive : http://i.imgur.com/K7XHu9x.png

The content that matters takes only the left third of the page. Side content is supposed to be secondary, here we have not one nor two but THREE sidebars. Side content is actually occupying more horizontal space than the main content !

PLEASE review wide screen layout. Everything else is fine.

  • Great redesign, love it. Good job.

    this looks good…..

  • Thank you for your valuable opinions for wide screen layout.

It’s sad that you are blocking our sponsors. It really hurts blogger like us. We need your support to make this site a better place. :(

  • I think the design is good but in Chrome on W8 machine the typography is a little thick in the articles. I think a more subtle font and color would stand out more.

About the sponsors, its bad for you that sponsors are blocked, but how annoying is it when you watch tv and have to watch 15 min of movie and have a commercialbreak? Ads are annoying and if there is an option to remove them, i would definitely do it.

The rest of the webdesign is great! I come to your website almost everyday, and when i wake up in the morning, a new fresh article is ready for me to be read.

  • Nice work, and with the centering for wide screen much better than before!

Have you considered a donate button ? I really like the post frequency and quality of your website, but advertising makes me mad :/

Nice colors and typography. But, there’s too much going on. Look at all the boxes on these pages. I don’t need any of this. All I need is a top nav, the article, some advertisements on the side and that’s it. Get rid of all the extraneous links and boxes.

At the end of the article add “read next” section like http://readwrite.com/2013/12/31/atm-cards-debit-cards-credit-cards-hackers-skimmers

  • Looks good, but I think the search bar should be near the top and stand out more.

  • mkozlov

    Nice!

  • Reminds me of Smashingmagazine.. otherwise looks good.

  • julz

The script lettering as background is distracting to me. Gray font colors too light for folks with disabilities. Otherwise it’s nice and legible.

  • I think the right side is just making the page crowded and hard to focus on the main content. This is much cleaner : http://i.imgur.com/9SYsZmt.png

  • fadlisaad

You sidebar was too big, and the color is boring. And, not all people have 3000px monitor

  • Maarten Belmans

I have to agree with you here :) too busy and a lot is taking away the attention of the most important thing: the article.

  • SergeyDruid

    Very nice redesign!

  • Harshana

:/ not much impressed ! theme is good. but the point is main content is too much aligned to left.

  • Wesam Alalem

    Amazing! like it so much.

keep up the great job ;)

  • jose

It gives an active impression, like hey, look at all that’s going on in this page. Like a busy street with traffic and people going to work. If that was the effect you sought, you got it.

It would be more convenient for me to have the search box at the top of the column. I don’t see why you have “follow us” at the top and then “Like us” and other social things at the bottom. You could put all that together in one place I reckon, or maybe have only one of each?

I just realized I’m totally missing the “deals” column. Have I got no way to access that part of the page?

  • plainblackguy

The front page doesn’t work quite right on iPhone. It’s just slightly too wide to fit the screen.

  • It has been fixed. :)
