Heads-up that this is basically re-branded ExtJS. If you, like me, are wary of working with that team due to their past cluelessness regarding licensing, you might consider looking at other frameworks instead.

Hi Rob, I hear you regarding the licensing issues of the past — Ext had some stumbling points in figuring out the right balance of open source/commercial at the beginning, but I think our current use of GPL3 has been very popular and will remain our choice. The company name, Sencha, is definitely a rebrand of Ext JS, primarily to avoid confusion between the company name and our flagship product.

We will be releasing our options for commercial licensing very soon and, though I can’t disclose the details yet, we’re making it _very_ accessible to single developers out there. Keep in mind, this is just a public beta :)

    Thanks!

I used ExtJS for large web ingle screen web application. It was so slow firefox could not handle it we had to switch to safari. But I would not write an app like that with Sencha, instead I would use SilverLight or Flex.
