Create CSS Sprite Images Easily with Sprite Cow

Posted · Category: GPL License, MIT License, Tools

Sprite Cow helps you get the background-position, width and height of sprites within a spritesheet as a nice bit of copyable css. I personally found it pretty useful and easy to use.

There are one or two rather clever tricks happening with Javascript and Canvas to discover the dimensions of images and generate the CSS, they have also shared the code on Github so that others can see under the hood.

They are blocking Opera for no reasons cuz the site work in it… Great developers…

  • Jake Archibald

Opera is blocked due to bugs in jQuery and missing features, such as the inability to launch a file dialog via a click listener (as detailed when you visit the page in Opera). These issues leave the site visually and functionally broken.

If you know ways around these issues, please post them on github!
