Fuel: Community Driven PHP 5.3 Framework

Posted · Category: Framework, MIT License

Fuel is a simple, flexible, community driven PHP 5.3 web framework based on the best ideas of other frameworks with a fresh start. Fuel has been tested on Apache, IIS and Nginx.

Fuel takes a different approach to many frameworks and strives to be community-driven. They have only been going for less than 6 months and already had 30 developers commit to the source code and documentation.

I have recently been working with CodeIgniter, and I must say that I am very very happy. After reviewing the documentation and the forums for this framework, I will say that it has potiential. I prefer a 100% community-driven application/software/framework, so this might hit the spot. Guess I’ll have to fork it and see how it plays out.

I’ll stick with Codeigniter for now. Fuel looks promising but not nearly as far along as Codeigniter. The documentation is lacking a lot of information and there doesn’t seem to be much community behind it yet.
