Testing Client-side JavaScript with Zombie.js

Posted · Category: MIT License, Tools

If you’re going to write an insanely fast, headless browser, how can you not call it Zombie? Zombie it is. Zombie.js is a lightweight framefork for testing client-side JavaScript code in a simulated environment. No browser required.

Requirements: Javascript

This looks very cool, I shall be looking at implementing this in the near future.

    Great find!

  • any body can explain me the benefit of it?

@یک طراح وب You can write an automated test suite for your JS heavy app. Great for regression testing.

There are automated tools out there already (i’ve used a few), but the promise about this tool is that it’s very low level and FAST. The main reason being that you’re not imitating a user but are programmatically accessing the DOM.

This seems a lot more flexible (if a little more complicated). However if you are capable of writing a JS heavy web app, I would suggest that using this tool shouldn’t be too hard.

nb: I’ve not even tried it yet, but it does look very promising.
