It's like the bag doesn't want you to add things in the 3rd row to it. It says "Drag & Drop Products to ME" but it is impossible to do that for an item in the 3rd display row. Also the bag blends into the design too much, make it stand out more.This is a cool concept and all but honestly, this has got to be one of the worst uses of drag & drop I have seen. Drag & drop is very useful when there are multiple destination options. Why not just put a plus button or add to bag button to the left of the price. Seems like somebody got happy with drag drop and forced themselves to find a place to use it even though it wasn't the best place to use it. The implementation on the site loplop linked is much better from a usability standpoint.

It would be better if the bag thing scrolled with the screen when the user scrolls. While we expected that customers who scrolled away from the bag widget would prefer the old-fashioned way of "[click on the product][click add to cart]", many customers said that they want to use drag and drop anyway.So we've added support for scrolling the page on drag-n-drop. But this feature is currently available on our internal test servers only. It will be released to the public servers in about 2-4 weeks.I had a look at your implementation of Drag-n-Drop too. Well tbh I prefer Ecwid. But yours is nice as well.
It has one issue with IE8 / Windows7 though, tweet me at http://www.twitter.com/ecwid for details.

@loplop:<br

Still, I would place another add-Button on the overview-pages.Another BIG usability-issue I just discovered: When you scroll down a page you can't even use the drag&drop, because you then don't see the place where you would have to drop it.In fact I have been working on a drag 'n drop-cart. It's a mess but some things I think I got right:

In this case they can always add a product in the usual old-fashioned way:
- click the necessary product
- click 'Add to cart' button----Colin,
Yes, most AJAX applications do have problems with search engines. That is why we created mobile catalog for all Ecwid stores. It is a plain-HTML version of each Ecwid store (with the automatic sitemap generation) that can be accessible by search engines without issues (e.g: http://www.google.com/search?q=ecwid+t-shirt).Moreover the mobile catalog is very convinient for evergrowing number of smartphone users who will be able to purchase from Ecwid store using their devices.
(Demo of the mobile catalog can be found here: http://www.ecwid.com/demo-mobile-version.html)Also Ecwid can act not only as a stand-alone shopping cart, but as a part and addition to your current website/CMS. In this case Ecwid will have as strong SEO capabilities as your website/CMS has.

loplop,

You’re right. Except for very few exceptions like the "Panic Goods"-Store (panic.com/goods), which has a plus-button aswell. Because clicking a button is just much more comfortable, and people are used to it.

Good idea.
