Yahoo! Web Analytics – Highly Customizable & Powerful

  • Stats

Yahoo! Web Analytics is a highly customizable, enterprise-level website analytics system designed to help website businesses increase sales and visitor satisfaction, reduce marketing costs and gain new insight on online customers. By storing data in raw, non-aggregated form, Yahoo! Web Analytics is more than simply a reporting tool.

Yahoo! Web Analytics is a powerful, and highly flexible, data analysis tool. Both near real-time and historical data can be segmented instantly and even visualized with advanced graphs to help marketers and site designers answer specific business questions and find new insights to improve their business. However, it’s now only available for free to search and display advertisers of Yahoo! at the moment.

    ok.. nice..
but its Yahoo!. In any minute they would close down the website. and you are screwed!

As a regular yahoo advertiser, I just recently started testing Yahoo analytics. I love the interface, love the maps. And it I am sure it is going to get some foothold.

I had two observations tough. The sites/code sometimes took a while to get response from the yahoo server (we have some sites outside the US, which could be contributing to the slowness). Secondly, although we don’t really use some of the advanced features in Google analytics, it does seem as if Yahoo is still short some of the feature set.

But like I said, it a good impressive start, great for comparison and I’m sure it will only get better.

Thank you Yahoo! This single feature could
cause me to switch from Google Analytics. Going to give this a try today.

Doh! Apparently they aren’t allowing new signups yet..

    From http://web.analytics.yahoo.com/faqs.php

Yahoo! Web Analytics will be made available to a wide range of Yahoo!’s customers, partners, developers and advertisers in stages throughout the rest of 2008 and into 2009.

Yahoo! Web Analytics is currently being offered to Yahoo! Small Business customers who host e-commerce sites with Yahoo!, as well as to advertisers who work with Yahoo! Custom Solutions and Yahoo! Buzz Marketing.

If you are an existing customer of Merchant Solutions Standard or Professional, or a Y! Store merchant, you will automatically have access. Merchant Solutions Starter customers and other members of Yahoo’s Small Business solution suite should stay tuned for future opportunities to gain access. Yahoo! also plans to release analytics-enhanced reporting for the Yahoo! developer community very soon.

If you would like to stay informed as we continue to expand our services to new groups of customers and partners, please register for updates on the Yahoo! Web Analytics home page.

    “ok.. nice..
but its Yahoo!. In any minute they would close down the website. and you are screwed!”

Actually, Yahoo! Web Analytics is a stand alone tool. This means that even if Yahoo! shuts down the Yahoo! Search Marketing platform due to the Microsoft/Yahoo search deal, Yahoo! Web Analytics will still be available and will offer the same reporting.

This also means that Yahoo! Web Analytics has its own set of engineers that will continue to deliver upgrades.
