Elastic jQuery plugin makes your textareas grow and shrink to fit it’s content. It was inspired by the auto growing textareas on Facebook. The major difference between Elastic and it’s competitors is it’s weight. The usage of Elastic is very straight forward. All you have to do is include the javascript file containing the plugin and use the elastic method.
Requirements: jQuery Framework

very great plugin !
dunno about you guys, but the demo link is unavailable to me. i click it and the page keeps loading and loading…
i am not behind a big firewall, just a regular internet connection and i never had problems getting on a certain website where others could access it and i not, never had that before. so my best guess is, the site is down?
it looks like a great plugin but since i’m not able to access the site i cannot test around with it.
yeah, site must be down…
The site has gone back up.
Gee golly that sure is swell! How about this one for a good follow-up story:
http://tools.uvumi.com/textarea.html
1. Growing textarea: check
2. Max character limit feature: check
3. Character progress meter: check
4. Propensity to dominate other textarea plugins: double check
aggreed daniel buchner that looks like a killer
though i’d prefer a jQuery alternative for your submission, since all other scripts in most of my sites are jquery i’d like to have it in the same as the other scripts. just to make it a little more simple
