Hey you should see some of the emails i have been getting.

people think they can blackmail me into creating modiufcations for them for free.

I get people telling me they would not use my shopping cart if i don’t implement a payment module for them or some other feature.

They don’t see why they should pay some money for features.

OpenCart v.1 < is OpenCart Zero. OpenCart v1.2.8 is the latest version. Community is alright but there is almost zero documentation and the code isn’t commented. The current version is fairly stable but has a long ways to go. Only one person develops this cart (Daniel) and he’s quite secretive about it and gives a bit of a cold-shoulder to anyone who wants to volunteer to help. If you require support from the admins, be prepared to flatter – they are not very receptive of any kind of criticism and there have been occasions where Daniel and the others show a bit of… over-reactive unprofessionalism.

Opencart now have new version current release 1.2.7. I download it last night, it really easy, clean and powerful shopping cart system! It free and have all features!

You might initially be frightened away by the date listed on the “current” download of OpenCart. However, the info on the home page is just wrong. The current release of OpenCart is 0.7.8 and was released in July of 2008 (not October of 2007 like the home page says).

The next version is currently at release candidate 2 and should be finalized within a month or so. Also, there are some very cool contribs including one that deals with search engine optimization, so that should take care of Mom Bun Heng’s complaint.

OpenCart very good, but difficult to configure on mode_rewrite. Any one could help.

I have tried http://www.osCommerce.com, then switched to http://www.comersus.com , an open source cart with free download that can be installed in Windows servers. Comersus is better, unless you are a programming guru that preffer linux.

looks like a customised version of joomla with the admin views and menu setup.

looks sweet though. at the moment i use drupal with modules which works ok but not a very friendly solution for clients and some payment methods.
